[Interview] 'Kpoppost’ X ‘ARTLOVER (아트러버)’
A South Korean native rapper, based in London, ARTLOVER (아트러버) kindly shared about her music career. Previously, she released her latest work, ‘redmOOn (레드문)’ on September 28. As a musician, ARTLOVER is so dedicated to her music that she needed one year to work on everything for ‘redmOOn (레드문).’
Talking about her debut, ARTLOVER (아트러버) actually decided to start her music career in 2014. However, she finally made her debut with ‘Want U Back’ in 2018.
ARTLOVER (아트러버) is a South Korean rapper living in London. Her experience living in a country with a different language and culture from where she is natively from influences her music. Therefore, we can say that she creates unique music that is earworming.

ARTLOVER : I was singing ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ in my cozy room on Christmas Eve in 2014. And I thought that I should start music and become an artist.
Kpoppost : Which of your song is your most favorite so far?
ARTLOVER : It’s hard to choose because I do my best for all my songs. Perhaps, ‘Want U Back’ is special, as it’s my debut single.
Kpoppost : You’re working as a Korean rapper while living in London. Can you tell us how you could possibly make that work? Because it must have been a REAL challenge.
ARTLOVER : I think London is a city where multiculturalism is mixed, and all possibilities are always open. And, I felt like there was no language barrier in music.
Kpoppost : You have a unique music concept; how do you describe your music?
ARTLOVER : Contemporary music without genre boundaries.
Kpoppost : Are there other genres you would like to explore?
ARTLOVER : Maybe, Dub staff (?)
Kpoppost : What is your most favorite instrument to play in composing your music?
ARTLOVER : A few years ago, before I became an artist. I saw a busking, the violinist was playing pop music, I was impressed, and I thought one day I would make a song and put a violin in it. And I added a violin to my recent new song ‘redmOOn (레드문).’
Kpoppost : Where did you get the inspiration most?
ARTLOVER : Every moment, everywhere, everything that can feel love.
Kpoppost : Who is your favorite artist?
ARTLOVER : Michael Jackson.
Kpoppost : If you’re given a chance, with whom would you like to collaborate for your music?
ARTLOVER : Any talented artist who wants to work with me, I would be happy.
Kpoppost : What is your future goal as an artist, and what drives you to reach that goal?
ARTLOVER : Making good music and I would like to be of some use in the world.
